Our family owned business - HBS - Heinrich Betz & Soehne GmbH & Co KG - was founded in 1875 and represents decades of experience, tradition, and high-quality products.

Our company history
Autumn 1875
Foundation of the company by Mr. Heinrich Betz with a village blacksmith, producing mortise locks and fittings.
1885
Due to increasing automation and growing sales figures, acquisition of the first manually operated machines and tools.
1886-1887
Entry of the sons Houwald and Hugo Betz into business.
Relocation of the company headquarters for more space to Önkfeld.
1906
Assumption of management by Houwald and Hugo Betz.
1907
Transformation into a steadily growing manufacturing company.
1910
Relocation of the company headquarters for more space to Radevormwald.
Discontinuation of lock production.
Commencement of sliding door roller production.
1945
Assumption of management by Houwald's grandson, Heinz-Hermann Becker, after death of Houwald and Hugo Betz.
1996
First certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 for quality management.
1999
Assumption of management by brothers Manfred and Bernhard Kemper.
Introduction of the overhead conveyor system and stainless-steel programs V2A and V4A.
2012
Manfred Kemper's departure from the company for health reasons.
2013
Entry of Bernhard Kemper's children Angela and Benedikt Kemper, as assistants to the management.
2019
Angela and Benedikt Kemper join the management.
